Each Winter in Island Park an average of 229 inches of snow falls on the over 1,000 miles of groomed trails and thousands of acres of public land open to free riding and exploring. A short ride from West Yellowstone and Yellowstone National Park, you can discover what SnoWest Magazine consistently rates as one of the Top 5 Snowmobiling Destinations. Uncrowded and unpretentious, Island Park affords folks the freedom to ride and relax.
Our facility in Last Chance incorporates a bar, restaurant, and lodging for our clients. The beautiful 11,000 square foot structure is sided in antique fir, which was reclaimed from a Montana mining complex, and local moss rock. Situated 160 feet from the river, all eleven rooms feature breathtaking views from their deck. Amenities include a large outdoor spa and hand-hewn pool table for guests. The rooms, featuring premium beds, satellite TV, a private bath, in floor radiant heat, a desk, and gear storage, will appeal to the adventure snowmobiler.
TroutHunter Bar & Grill features some of the finest food in the Greater Yellowstone area and is a great place to trade stories and exchange information about trail conditions and secret powder stashes, while warming up with a drink and meal. Always on the cutting edge of entertainment, TroutHunter has been host to some of the best parties in Island Park including the Alticity Big Air Show.
From the trail located just off the river behind our facility you can access such places as Mesa Falls, Two Top Mountain, and Big Springs. On the southern end of Island Park's 33 mile long main street, we are located by some of the least used routes in the area resulting in the finest trail riding around. For more adventurous riders, The Centennial Range and South Plateau offer challenging riding with some of the best steeps and powder available in the lower 48 states. In the Centennial Range, Mount Jefferson and Wahoo Chute will test even the most experienced rider.
We work with local shops to help insure that your sled needs are met. In addition, many of the shops offer discounted sled rentals to guests of TroutHunter.
